50th Celebration A Success – How to Help GPCS’s Future

The 50th Anniversary Celebration for Greater Portland Christian School held on Friday October 20th was a big success! It was a memorable evening with alumnus Jordan Peters ‘12 serving as our Master of Ceremonies and Bret Bergst, Interim Head of School, moderating a heartfelt and humorous panel discussion. Our panelists included Master Teachers Mary Willink and Caryn Hasbrouck along with alumnus David Frye ‘15, and they all shared some great stories about their personal experiences and how GPCS has contributed to this community.

The open mic session was a wonderful time of reminiscing and learning about the impact of GPCS on the lives of former students, alumni, faculty, and parents, and the student video (available at this link) showcased some of our current students and their positive experiences at the school.

Founder Anne MacDonald reminded us of what “we could not see” in 1973 and that faith and God’s provision made the way for the school to persevere through many challenges. Russ Keenan, a long time board member, volunteer, parent, and grandparent of students, helped us look forward to GPCS’s future with information on the new capital campaign to care for our building, increase enrollment, and enhance the teaching staff.

We are looking for people to help in a myriad of ways, from building needs, to teaching and/or coaching, and for other needed projects. If you would like to learn more about or donate to our capital campaign please visit https://gpcs.net/give/ – and be on the lookout for more information from us in the coming weeks.
