Our Newest National Honor Society Inductees

Our National Honor Society chapter inducted four new members recently at a ceremony held at the Maine Military Museum in South Portland. Juniors Anna Good, Megan Smith, Shaun Teague and Maysen Wilson joined the current group of Seniors Ethan Chick, Hope Lanspberg, and Hannah Sjoberg. Though applicants must have a grade point average of at least 3.5, membership in the National Honor Society is not based on scholastic achievement alone. Applicants must also demonstrate leadership, service, and character in their daily lives. Students go through a selection process designed to evidence for the faculty council that the applicant has indeed met all of our chapter’s membership criteria–not just have superior grades.

Once members have been approved by the faculty, they participate in an induction service that includes traditions going back several decades. Our parents always appreciate how the induction ceremony itself points to Christ as the ultimate Model of the four NHS traits of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Our National Honor Society chapter will be involved in service projects throughout the year. It is advised by Mrs. Caryn Hasbrouck.

Congratulations, juniors!
